Hi there! My name is Charlotte D. Hunt
Every child is born to dream wildly. Despite growing up in an abusive household, like many, I had a desire to make a difference in the world through my music and somehow touch people’s lives. Even through my pain, I wanted my life to have meaning.
When I became a born-again Christian in February of 1982, my salvation and relationship with Christ was sure. However, after questioning a pastor about my confusion over God’s love for me, the Pastor’s response was, “Charlotte, you are damaged goods and God is never going to use you.”
For years, I battled with that lie and with my past. I believed that I was a loser, worthless, unacceptable, and had no purpose. I experienced a long journey of losing everything, eating disorders, being a drug addict, homelessness, and experienced situations I would not wish on anyone. Every day, I lived in fear of being found out that I was a failure and ran from pain at every turn only to be in bondage to those very things.
On the morning after an attempt to take my life, a voice went off in my head. No one came into my room nor did the earth shake. It was a small voice that simply reminded me that I was still alive despite my attempts to take myself out. “Maybe, there was a reason!”
For me, that was the beginning of an extensive journey of researching, writing, speaking, teaching, and working in the area of purpose and vision. I am a Speaker, Certified Coach, Trainer and author who helps people to live on purpose in walking past fears, using their pain for a purpose, and finding meaning in their lives through who they are and what they offer others.
In my award-winning first book, “Damaged Goods”, the evidence was clear that no damage, illness, background, person, limitation, or lie could ever thwart the plan and purpose of God in our lives. My story reveals a national motivational speaker, certified coach, teacher, an international runway model, national radio personality, college Jazz professor, Jazz recording artist, award-winning author of eight novels, Off-Broadway actress, and I’m just getting started.
For over 20 years, I have consulted and spoken to women’s organizations, non-profits, corporations, child advocacy centers, rape and sexual abuse centers, colleges and universities, homeless shelters, hospitals, federal government agencies, and individuals toward purpose, vision, and change.
In researching my second book, “Dream Madly, Pursue Wildly, Trust Completely”, I found that over 50% of our population is struggling with issues of fear and pain and their number one desire is for meaning in their lives.
My life’s work is to add value to the discouraged in the area of daily helping people and organizations to see their true impact and take down those obstacles that get in the way through workshops, conferences, teaching, writing and speaking events.
I speak on topics ranging from Trusting Completely, Living on Purpose, Vision Takers, Contentment in Singleness, women’s issues, Taking Power Back From Fear, How Your Pain and Suffering for Your Healing, Personal Impact for Greatness, and more
