I remember the day I shared my story with a group of women at a homeless shelter over 25 years ago and the impact it made on their lives and mine. I thought because of my issues and past, I would be rejected and laughed at by strangers. Instead, I began to realize the power of the three needs we have as humans, (the need to be loved, have worth, and have acceptance) and understand that it is not despite our weaknesses and situations that we move toward our purpose and vision but because of them that we do. That evening began a course of transitioning my life from being a professional musician and international runway model to becoming who I am today.
Perhaps my passion for empowering others toward leadership and purpose comes from a background of obstacles and being told my life was “too damaged to be used for any purpose”. Through a long journey of losing everything and homelessness to becoming an international runway model, national radio personality, influencer, college professor, recording artist, award-winning author, Off-Broadway actress, and more, my purpose is to speak, write, and coach on topics to help businesses and individuals realize their weaknesses and situations are not obstacles but opportunities to be used for their purpose and vision.
Even more than being a Keynote Speaker who has spoken before crowds as large as 1,500, Development and Transformational Leadership Trainer, Certified Group Facilitator, Coach, Counselor, and Award-winning Author, I am someone who knows what it is like to want answers. We all do, yet we need direction and encouragement in getting those answers. For over 20 years, I have worked with, developed, encouraged, and educated managers, leaders, organizations, businesses, federal government agencies, and individuals toward purpose, vision, and change.
I speak on topics ranging from effective leadership, purpose, vision, women’s issues, overcoming obstacles, human resources issues, and more. I am also authorized to teach, train, and facilitate any of John Maxwell’s materials. See more on my John Maxwell page.
