If I were to show you a legal $100 bill, how much would you say it is worth? You would probably say, “It’s worth $100 dollars.” That’s correct. Now if I were to damage it, throw it on the ground, say it is not really worth $100 dollars, step on it or even misplace it, how much would it be worth? It is still worth $100 regardless.
If a $100 piece of paper still has equal value regardless of the damage done to it, why do we so often believe that our value is less due to the damage and hurt done to us?Â
Yes, there are times when we experience damaging and painful things in our lives, we are thrown to the ground, others devalue us by their words, we feel stepped on and even feel lost. Know that while those things are painful and we FEEL like we are less than, hold onto the truth. NOTHING and NO ONE can lessen your value because nothing and no one gave you your value to begin. God created you by His perfect hand.
Often we feel as though we cannot be used or something is wrong with us because of our past, present condition, abuse, or situation. Quite the opposite. If we look at the Bible and His Words as a guide, the more stuff we have that seems to disqualify us for use, the more qualified and perfect we are for His use. Why? Because we others see a wonderful change in us that is encouraging others, people say, “Hold on! That person is being used in a great way and I know they had a lot of baggage and stuff in the way. There is no way they could have done that in their own power and might. That must be God doing that!”Â
Don’t give up because of what you are feeling at this moment. You are so much better than that.
You can do this!Â
Take care,
Charlotte
