VISION/PURPOSE: “Facing Your Fears: A Plan For Growth- Part One
Thank you for joining me on this 2-week Blog Series called, “Facing Your Fears: A Plan For Growth”. This series is only available to subscribers and those who follow my site. Combined with my counseling background and the many areas that I have been writing, speaking and working with clients on, I am giving you the highlights of an in-depth training I do dealing with how fear impacts our growth in combination with incredible information from John’s book. If you would like to read the series again or other similar posts, it will be available at www.charlottehunt.com.
Today begins our first of five points in this series. What feelings come to mind when you consider living a life of unfulfilled potential? I believe you are interested in this series because there is something inside of you, despite fear, situations, or obstacles, that has a desire to fulfill the potential that you have been created to reach. A challenge is that reach we have to place ourselves in that often seems difficult…called intentional growth.
Growth in Self-awareness is required to discover our purpose. Growth in our character is required to become a better human being. Growth in our skills and abilities are required to advance in careers. Growth is unique from person to person but does not just happen, it is intentional.
Do you have a plan for your growth? Working hard does not guarantee success and hope is not a strategy! When we focus on trying to hit a goal, we may or may not hit that goal. However, if we focus on growth, our goals will always be hit.
Which Growth Gap(s) are you in currently?
1) The Assumption Gap – I will automatically grow
2) The Knowledge Gap – I don’t know how to grow
3) The Timing Gap – It’s not the right time to grow
4) The Mistake Gap – I am afraid of making mistakes
5) The Perfection Gap – I have to find the best way before I start
6) The Inspiration Gap – I don’t feel like growing
7) The Comparison Gap – Others are better than I
8) The Expectation Gap – I thought it would be easier than this
These are ALL misconception about growth. We will discover more
Next: Part 2: How do we get from where we are to where we want to be?
You can do this!
