POST FOR ANSWERS, STRUGGLES, QUESTIONS – There is Always a Purpose in Your Pain-What are you doing with it?
Today you may feel forgotten, lost, and wonder if you have wasted a lifetime of efforts. You may feel lonely, as though no one cares about the pain, struggles or situations you may be going through because of the fast-paced world that is around you. You may wonder if it is worth the effort to push forward or even try to make a difference when wrong seems to pay and bad behavior seems to win. You will want to stop and give up believing you matter and you make a difference. Oh man, I get that. Sometimes we go through situations where we wonder if God sees or loves us or even has any type of control over anything anymore. Â
Sometimes our pain (emotional, relational, and physical) seems so overwhelming that the only way to deal with it is through our control or perhaps just wanting out. Believe me, I’ve been there. I encourage you to hang on not because life always feels better, but because only through your pain can you be better if you allow it. I dare you to see your pain through different eyes. Â
We often believe pain, suffering, and struggles are related to punishment and God is angry with us. Of course, when we do something wrong (steal from work, cheat on a spouse, gossip, etc.) we should not be surprised when there are consequences. However, as humans, we simply walk through life and horrible things happen. It is not God zapping you it is bad people doing bad things and this simply not being Heaven. If you are a Christian, God lovely allows us to walk through situations including pain and struggles to refine us and prepare us for the purposes He created us for that we can’t handle at the moment. Our pain is never meant to shut us down or put up walls of anger or fear. Our pain is meant to be used to comfort others who come after us and to grow in knowing we survived it and can now use it to stand and take another step in strength.
Only people of greatness can tell stories of how they got knocked down yet came back despite the pain. No one is a self made anything. Use your pain for a purpose with the gifts you have been given (write, use your music, speak, teach, do crafts, serve, blog, help children, educate, etc.) What is being formed in you to offer others because of the pain and story of your life?
