For some, today will be a wonderful time of joy in being with your mother. For others, today will be a day of sadness and struggle in remembering the loss of your mother and the many moments of joy that have been quieted through the silence of her voice and touch. Only time and wonderful memories can tender the deep ache in your heart. I pray that this day and the many Mother’s Days to come will replace your sadness and loss with hope and laughter and a legacy of continuing in her footsteps. We cannot undo the past of our parent’s or our own mistakes. However, we can chose to move forward learning to love better, yield further and to live bolder.

Tell me if you have ever done this, I know I have. Something happens, money problems, job problems, people problems, decisions, needing direction, etc. I hear Him saying, “Look up, Be still and know I am God” Yet, I still try to control the outcome, focus in the hope the situation, or that people will do or work out the way I want, I worry and wonder and think about what if. Then..the Lord reminds me…”If your Daddy owns all the banks why do you worry about funds?” “If your Daddy owns all the restaurants, why do you worry about food? “If your Daddy created you, knows the future and His perfect plans for you and will always do what is best for you, why are you trippin?”…Then, I come to my senses and remember who He is and look up and be still knowing He is God. Hang in there and be encouraged.

I had a speaking engagement a few days ago in which I was speaking to ladies about hope. Here is a reminder for you. Yes, hope is a confident expectation however to have hope in the Lord is more…It is to have a memory of our past experiences with the Lord for the future. Whatever you are going through, your pain, your loss, your people struggle, whatever. Remember a time in the past when God provided that miracle, the money from no where, that perfect plan, etc and know He is the same and will take care of you now. Know that if He opened a Red Sea back in the day, that same able God who is planning and willing to open the Red Seas in your life is still in control. Just saying. Be encouraged.

It is interesting that people are understandably reaching out to me asking how I’m doing because of my recent job loss. First, let me say “Thank you and I love your heart for me.”  How many of you remember not too far back when I went through an eight year journey of losing everything, being jobless and not able to find work outside of His provision, having my car and all my money stolen, being homeless and having no money? Yet in all those eight years I constantly witnessing Him providing impossible miracles and proving not only that He was able but that I can trust Him in everything. Some of you were part of those miracles. To that degree, yeah my company did some very wrong stuff and God will handle that. However, this was all God’s plan for me to be there and His release to let me go in His plan. I don’t know the reasons or the next step, but I trust Him with it all and everything. Believe me, compared to what I went through in those eight years, this is cake and I’m excited not in grief or down at all.  I know who is in control. Be encouraged in knowing, He knows the plans he has for us and they are not for calamity but for future and a hope. You can trust Him in and with everything! Okay, enough of my soapbox!

Today you will believe that it is too late to dream. You will believe that it is too late in years, too late due to the issues in your life, too late in missed opportunities, too late in time, too late for everything.
Maybe situations are stirring up now because THIS is your time. Remember, there is no age limit, state of emotional health, position, wealth, or anything that can prevent you from dreaming except the belief that you are not worthy of the dream. You can do this!

So often we fear change, pain, struggles, being misunderstood or harmed, going through difficult situations or doing the very thing we believe God is asking us to walk through because we don’t know what is on the other side of the door. Will God provide? Does He know about our pain and situation? Does He really care about me? In those crazy and fearful times, He asks us not to trust what is on the other side of the door but to trust Him regardless of what is on the other side. I have had fame, stuff and money and I have been homeless, jobless and without a penny to my name in years past. I can tell you this…He is ABLE and He never fails. Whatever you are going through trust Him. You can do this!
