IN YOUR OWN WORDS: Amy Swoope (Her poem won submission into my latest book, Purpose in the Pain)
Change Your Choice-Change Your Life
Imagine the silly giggle of a child responding to a funny face on a cartoon show.  Close your eyes to feel the warm breeze blowing across your face during a spring afternoon. Ponder the people, paths, and intersections and the unique journey that has made up the story called your life. Lean back and allow yourself to imagine and dream of faraway places, desires of your heart, great legacies to leave, and life-changing impact to make in, through and for your life and the lives of others.
All of those things are wonderful parts of life to enjoy and share. However, how many of us overlook or do not slow our lives down enough to take in and enjoy the full pleasure of the moment? How often do we say to family and friends, “Work and getting things done can wait I just want to enjoy the now with you”?Â
Most times the hardest thing to do when we are directionless or struggling is to simply rest, be still, stay in the moment and breathe. Instead, we often feel the need to work harder or figure things out. I encourage you to stop and consider that maybe a process is in place to help you stop doing and just…be

One of the greatest lessons I am learning is that every situation, every person’s life I crossed in my journey, every mistake, painful moment, tear of joy or sorrow, and every experience through my past or present story hold great purpose. They are NOT things to make me a better Christian (what is that anyway?) They are things that help me to allow myself to fully enjoy and be enjoyed by Him and others and to make an impact and live out a purpose, through my frailty, day by day.Â
What are you learning?
Take care,
Charlotte

Here is my New Year’s Prayer for all of you. May the Lord comfort the sorrows, griefs, and losses of this past year with the lingering memories of joy, times remembered, and a deep knowledge of His passionate love. May you find a courage and renewal of fire in your life so great that visions, plans, and lost dreams are restored and accomplished in mighty ways. May words that were meant for harm and to shut you down be thrown away from your heart and mind like yesterday’s trash and only be used to ignite a great energy to know nothing can ever thwart you from your potential but you. Finally, may you know that regardless of your past, your mistakes, your disabilities, your age, your situations, your education, anything, you have been created for a purpose. In 2015, through your pain, searching, tears, joy, laughter and living, may the Lord begin to reveal what His purpose is for your life that He placed in you for greatness. Have a wonderful, blessed, and safe New Year everyone. Charlotte.

Okay, it’s getting close to the New Year. How are you feeling? Are you feeling hopeful and excited, a bit depressed maybe due to the current situation you are in right now, kinda don’t care because you are just fed up and tired, etc? I have mixed emotions. I’m feeling a little sad and lonely because while I love my friends here, they have families and I miss my single buddies and the things I did during the holidays back in Nashville. However, I’m incredibly hopefully and excited about the New Year and truly believe great things will happen through, for, and in me for the lives of others this year. Can’t wait. Have a wonderful and blessed New Year everyone. Please share your feelings if you are willing

As we come to the end of another year we can look back over trials, joys, gains, births, misunderstandings, laughter, mistakes, losses, words that can never be recovered and people we will never see on this side of heaven. We hopefully experienced growth and real friendships while continuing to walk out a road well travelled through failures, mistakes,  and standing in the midst of storms. We have gone through an entire year, but that year has past…it is time for a new year to begin. Yes, learn the lessons, use the pain, then build greatly on your story and the past for the future.
Have you ever looked out of a window on a beautiful summer’s day and thought about what could have been? Have you ever witnessed a wrong, discovered a need, had a passion that stirred inside your heart, or felt drawn toward a specific path or direction and knew some way, somehow you were meant to do something about it? If you have ever felt those things? Perhaps now, going into this new year of 2015, is your time to begin or continue walking forward in pursuing the purpose, calling, dreams, and visions placed in you. Perhaps now you are being challenged to dream, to stretch yourself beyond what was reasonable, expected, and ordinary. Stop thinking you are too old, too sick, too young, too uneducated, too whatever and start stepping out on what you have been called to do. Just saying!
 You can do this!
Be encouraged, it’s a journey not a destination.
