ENCOURAGEMENT FOR TODAY: What Are You Going Through that Makes You Want to Stop?
So often, we live a life of struggles, pain, and hardships and at the moment we feel overwhelmed, we give up and stop. It is so easy to believe we are the only ones going through the struggle and sometimes believe that no one cares. I encourage you to hang in there even though you don’t FEEL like it.
Perhaps you are going through a divorce, homelessness, unemployment, hurt from a friend, depression or you’re just tired of feeling like you are taking one step forward to fall two steps behind. I get that and have experienced most of those things in my life. We can remain in one place doing nothing believing things will change on their own. By the way, DENIAL, ain’t just a river in Egypt!
The issues are not the pain or problems of the past or even the current situation but how we will move forward and our perspective in our next steps.
Poverty is not about money but about resources. Once we calm from the initial blow of the situation, begin to look around at our resources (people, technology, background, skills, abilities, etc.) and think instead of FEEL, interesting things happen. Feelings cause us to want to stop and sit down in our pain and situations. However, when we take a moment to evaluate, we can come up with possibilities. Maybe your situation is an opportunity or a kick in the pants for you to take a risk to do what you love or move toward courage.Â
Stay the course and hold on. You can do this!
Take care,
Charlotte
