ENCOURAGEMENT FOR TODAY- Rest is an important part of the Process.
Have you ever been so focused on a situation or the destination that you try to make it happen or get ahead of the timing set in place? What happened?
For me, I find myself getting frustrated, angry with people, worried aboutthe future, and trying to make things work that probably should not.
There have been times when I have been so focused on things like reaching a goal, not missing a goal, trying to trust God, trying to change a habit, find out a purpose or direction, etc. that not only did I fail to reach that intended end but I added a load of worry, frustration, fear, sleepless nights and a few gray hairs to my plate.
As I spend this time in recovery from my hip surgery, I am forcing myself to simply rest. That means, not get ahead of the therapist, the healing process, completing tasks on my desks or worrying about my to-do list. I’m just enjoying (at least learning to) the process of resting, watching old movies, sharing time with friends, and realizing that the rest and process is more important than the goal.
Most times, especially if they are God-related, those things are supposed to be worked out through a process that we will never be able to control, analyze, do in five steps, work out in our timing, understand, or go through struggle-free. Allow yourself the freedom to rest and not miss out on the beautiful journey of the people and scenery in the midst of the journey.
Remember: Things that are not automatic or come easy will always be those things that require an inner change to take place before an outer occurrence will happen. Just a thought!
You can do this!Â
Take care,
Charlotte
