Often I run across writers who use pieces of their lives to construct their books. In Harry Kraus, I have found an author who not only take pieces from his life but uses his life as a signature for his books and uses his life to impact the world. A while ago, Harry and I became friends on facebook. Oh, how I love facebook for networking. I was immediately impressed with the title of his latest book, “The Six-Liter Club” and knew I had to find out what that title was all about. I was blown away with the concept and his writting.
Harry sent me a copy of his book and WOW! All I have to say is that you MUST read this book. My copy mysteriously grew legs and left my home during a small gathering. Well, I’m sure that person took it only because of my excitement after reading it. Great read.
Here’s alittle more about the writer and his latest book, The Six-Liter Club
Bio: Harry Kraus, MD is a board-certified surgeon and bestselling author of a dozen novels and three works of non-fiction. His novels are laced with his signature of medical realism. For most of the last few years, he has made his home in East Africa where he works as a surgical missionary. The Six-Liter Club tells the compelling story of the first African American female to become a trauma surgeon at the Medical College of Virginia and combines two of Harry’s loves: surgery and Africa.
Please visit his website at www.harrykraus.com. You can also order a copy of the book, read an excerpt, download the discussion guide, pre-order his upcoming book (Domesticated Jesus) and peruse his previous collection (My favorite is Breathing Grace: What You Need More Than Your Next Breath) I gave copies of that book away to my counseling clients.
