Due to past events, beliefs, and life experiences, those needs can become blurred and we begin to look to a person, place or thing as our ultimate source of love, worth, and acceptance.
We can easily fall for lies about others, God and ourselves. We need encouragement to separate possible lies from the truth as we move forward toward our hopes.
The deeper the “need wound” the easier we believe lies about others, God, and ourselves. The fight to measure up to others and our expectations can often be unrealistic. In other words, certain issues and situations from our past or story can impact our three needs and leave us with wounds and feelings of emptiness.
In our desperate need to fill those tanks, we often seek and allow any lie to enter our lives in order to be filled. Like an addiction, when a situation or person does not fill us continually or the way we desire, we look for something else bigger, better, and longer lasting regardless of how unhealthy or improper.
The good news is that lies can be challenged and with the help of safe people and possible professional help, lies can be eliminated.
Take care,
Charlotte
