There was a story about two people who met a person who said something hurtful to them. One of them said, “I’m so sorry you feel that way, but you have the right to feel what you feel and I will pray for you anyway.” They both continued for miles on their way. After a while, the one who did not make the forgiving comment, got upset and said, “I can’t believe you didn’t hold something against that person who said that horrible thing to us.” The other person said, “I may have failed to hold something against that person but you have been holding it for us both all this time!” The point is often when others hurt us they go on with their lives yet we continue carrying the hatred, anger, and pain because we don’t want to let it go and would rather hold a grudge than to grieve it and allow God to do His thing (which is often much better than we could ever do). Let go of whoever and whatever you are holding onto. It’s like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies. Not worth it. Have a blessed day
Just a thought.
